Internet/Web Systems Administrator (Intermediate)
About the Role
Our client is seeking an Internet/Web Systems Administrator (Intermediate) to support web application development, server administration, and accessibility compliance. The consultant will help modernize and maintain critical web systems by developing new pages, migrating legacy applications, and ensuring compliance with accessibility standards.
This role requires strong experience with Windows IIS server administration, web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, ASP), database integration (Oracle/MySQL), and Section 508 accessibility standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and implement new web pages and applications.
Integrate front-end websites with back-end databases and applications.
Administer and troubleshoot Windows IIS servers.
Migrate legacy applications to modern web platforms.
Ensure ADA/Section 508 compliance using accessibility evaluation tools.
Perform bug fixes, styling updates, and documentation.
Mentor junior team members and collaborate with staff on requirements.
Monitor site traffic and performance; produce reports.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience with:
Web technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, ASP, XML
Server administration: IIS on Windows Server 2012 (or later), Apache
Databases: Oracle, MySQL, relational database integration
Source control tools: GIT or Subversion
Development methodologies: Agile/SCRUM
Demonstrated experience with ADA / Section 508 accessibility standards.
Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
Graphic design and multimedia design experience.
Experience working in government or public sector IT environments.
Strong teamwork, communication, and mentoring abilities.
